My Skincare Routine

My Skincare Routine
My skincare routine has been requested for a while over on my YouTube Channel and I’m finally getting around to sharing it with you.
For my evening skincare routine I tend to take a bit more time to really get off all the makeup I have worn that day, and to make sure that my skin is lovely and clean before I go to bed. First, I remove my makeup with a facial wipe, my favourite ones are Dirty Works Gently Does It (£3). Each time I finish a pack of face wipes I go out and get something different but these are the ones I keep coming back to. They do a pretty decent job of removing my makeup, even eye makeup and mascara. Alright, they might not get rid of every trace of makeup, but they don’t irritate my skin or sting my eyes which a lot of other face wipes do. Next, I hop into the shower and massage my face with The Sanctuary Polishing Hot Cloth Cleanser (£10.50) then buff it off with a warm, damp face cloth and rinse my face with warm water. I have a separate review of this cleanser which you can read here if you are interested. Once I’m done with my shower and all toweled off I use Boots Botanics All Bright Cleansing Toner (£2.69) and sweep it over my face with a cotton pad. My preferred ones are Boots Double Faced Cotton Rounds (£1.89). I haven’t been using the toner for long so it’s too soon to say if this is really doing anything for my skin but it’s not caused any adverse side effects so I will persevere. The last step in my evening skincare routine is moisturiser. For under my eyes I use Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream (£20) which is nice and not too heavy for that delicate area, and finally Organic Surge Super-Intensive Daily Moisturiser (£8.99). This is a thicker, richer cream and since I have combination/oily skin I can’t use this during the day but it’s a nice hit of moisture before bed.

With such an involved evening routine (for me anyway) I like to keep my morning skincare routine pretty simple. Plus I like my bed too much in the mornings! I use L’Oreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution (£4.99) on a cotton round and sweep that over my face. This is gentle enough to use on the eye area and just takes off that layer of leftover moisturiser and any oils my skin has produced over night. Then for daytime moisturisers I use the Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream again for under my eyes and for my face I use La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo (£13). I’ve been using this for about 3 months and it is amazing. I used to suffer with cystic acne, particularly around that time of the month, and this product cleared it up. I didn’t think anything could sort out cystic acne but this has worked wonders. It feels more like a serum, sinks into the skin quickly and leaves a matte finish – perfect for oily skinned gals.So that is my entire skincare routine. I don’t tend to use face masks very often and don’t have a favourite one so that’s why I haven’t included anything like that. I hope you found this helpful in some way and the video is below if you want to check it out.
