MUA Undressed Palette – Swatches & Looks

MUA Undressed Palette Review Swatches Tutorial Makeup Looks thegirlinspired

I’m assuming most of you reading this will have come over from the video that just went up on my beauty channel so I’ll jump straight in with the swatches. If you haven’t seen that video and want to hear me talking about what I think of this palette on the whole, and to see how I created the 4 looks below, the video is embedded at the bottom of this post for your viewing pleasure!

I’ll start with the swatches:

All of these eyeshadows are super pigmented, especially considering the palette is only £4! (Available at Superdrug by the way!)

So these are the 4 looks I created using this palette, for anyone that is maybe just getting into makeup and are a bit unsure of how to use the colours, or if you’re just looking for a little bit of inspiration, I hope this helps.

These are all very easy looks to do that anyone should be able to create.

Review/NOTD: MUA Pistachio Ice Cream

I haven’t tried a whole lot from the brand MUA. I picked up a few makeup items towards the end of last year and was really impressed with them – if you’re interested you can watch my first impressions video here. Just recently I have been on the hunt for a pale mint green nail polish and rather than fork out £7.99 for Essie’s Mint Candy Apple that everyone and their sister seems to rave about, I decided to pick up this one from MUA.

MUA Pistachio Ice Cream

The colour is called Pistachio Ice Cream and although it’s not quite as bright as the Essie one it’s a really close dupe. The bottle, as I’m sure you will notice, is extremely similar to Essie’s, even down to the brand name embossed into the glass. The MUA one is a little smaller though and I have a side by side picture so you can see the difference/similarities.

So as for the polish itself…. I have to say I didn’t love it straight away. First things first, the brush is VERY small – similar in size to something you would get with a miniature nail polish. I found I have to re-dip the brush in the polish and use several smaller strokes to coat each nail. Secondly, the formula is quite thin and very streaky, particularly if you like to apply thin coats. This is all starting to sound rather negative but… when I applied the second coat I went in slightly thicker as I didn’t want to sit painting my nails all night to get an opaque finish. This second coat really evened out the colour and left a beautiful, shiny cream finish. If you look closely you can still see a little bit of streakiness but it’s barely noticeable.

MUA Pistachio Ice Cream

On the whole I am once again really impressed with MUA and will be looking to pick up more polishes and makeup from them in the future. Let me know if there’s anything you think I should try. MUA polishes are available at Superdrug for £1.

First Impressions: MUA

I recently went to Superdrug and picked up a few things from MUA. I’ve never tried anything from MUA before and don’t often go into Superdrug, Boots is my preferred drugstore. But I’ve decided I need to cut back on my spending when it comes to beauty products, and makeup in particular, and since Superdrug have lots of affordable brands I thought it would be the perfect way for me to still treat myself and try something new without breaking the bank.

I picked up a bronzer, blush, lipstick and lipgloss all for only £5! Such a bargain!! I tried them for the first time on camera as I thought it would be nice for you to see my first initial reaction to them.

Overall I am really impressed with all of the items I picked up and will definitely be going back for more in the future.
Have you tried anything from MUA? What would you recommend I try next?
