Get Ready With Me ft MAC’s Sketch

Get Ready With Me

This is going to be my last #thefallinspired post, for this year at least. A couple of months ago I posted a picture on Instagram of two different looks and asked which one you would prefer to see a video on.

Get Ready With Me
Most people actually voted for the smoky grey look but I thought that number 1 was more appropriate for this series. Who knows, maybe I’ll do a video on number 2 closer to New Years as I think it would make a good New Years look.

Favourite Fall Nail Polishes

Favourite Fall Nail Polishes

As part of my #thefallinspired series I picked out my favourite lip colours for this season and this is the nail counterpart to that post. Some of these colours I have posted previously on Instagram so I have included those pictures below in case you haven’t seen them (you can follow me on Instagram here).

I’m actually craving much lighter, airier polishes lately but since I don’t own many of those colours I fell back to my staples for this time of year, which seem to include a number of purples…

Favourite Fall Nail Polishes
On my nails currently is Rimmel Deliciously Dark with 17 Cosmic Heather over the top. Unfortunately you can’t buy Cosmic Heather in store, which is a shame because it’s gorgeous and I haven’t found anything else like it. It’s a bronzy shimmer in a sheer purple base, great on its own but equally lovely over darker colours. Deliciously Dark is a long time favourite and is a deep eggplant purple with a cream finish.
OPI Dutch ‘Ya Just Love OPI – I think this colour is particularly appropriate for October. Something about the shade of purple just makes me think Halloween. Perfect if you want to wear something a bit more colourful without being too in-your-face bright. Perfect for if you are a bit bored of wearing darker colours on your tips.
OPI Meet Me On The Star Ferry – A lovely warm plummy-brown. This has a beautiful, almost metallic finish with a golden shimmer running through it.

Favourite Fall Nail Polishes
OPI The World Is Not Enough – This was part of the James Bond Skyfall collection and a huge favourite of mine last year. Pictures don’t do this colour justice. It’s a taupy-silver purple, a little on the sheer side, but it looks gorgeous worn sheer or built up to full opacity. It has a ton of shimmer in it which catches the light so beautifully.
China Glaze Midtown Magic – A blackened chocolate brown. This is one of those shades that is so dark it looks almost black from a distance. It’s not until you see it close up or it catches the light that you see the depth of the colour and the copper and gold shimmer.

Favourite Fall Nail Polishes
Essie Bordeaux – A beautiful, almost jelly finish blood red. This is my favourite pick of the bunch. I love Essie nail polishes and definitely want to expand my collection.
What are your nail polish picks for this season?

Favourite Fall Lip Products

Favourite Fall Lip Products
As part of #thefallinspired series on my YouTube channel I picked out my favourite lip products for this season. I’ve been trying to get out of my comfort zone and be a little more daring so most of my picks are berry tones – season appropriate and a little darker than I would typically go for without being too adventurous. These are my picks:
❤ Model Co Party Proof Matte Lipstick in Kitty – Strangely this isn’t actually a matte lipstick as the name would suggest but more of a satin finish. The colour is lovely though, a creamy nude with enough warm pink in it so you’re not left looking washed out.
❤ Revlon Lip Butter in Macaroon – The only lip butter I own – I know, I know, I need to get more! This is a nice sheer berry shade with golden shimmer. Great for if you don’t typically wear much colour on your lips and are just starting to venture into this kind of shade. I’ve actually been wearing this a lot recently – expect to see it in my October Favourites.
❤ Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Heart Breaker – A beautiful pinky berry colour. Smooth and creamy and pigmented, this is what I have been reaching for when I want something a little brighter this season.
❤ 17 Supreme Shine Lipstick in Deep Secret – The darkest lipstick I own, this is a vampy reddish purple. I’m sure many of you will rock much darker lipsticks on a daily basis, but for me this is really pushing it out there. It is a lovely colour though and one I will wear with the right outfit and for the right occasion.
❤ MUA Intense Kisses High Intensity Gloss in Sealed With A Kiss – I am so impressed with this lipgloss. It is the creamiest, smoothest and by far the most pigmented gloss I have found for £1. The mauvy pink hue makes it perfect for fall/autumn if you want something a little lighter without it being too bright.
❤ MAC Cremesheen Glass in Color Saturation – I got this in one of the limited edition holiday sets last year and wasn’t sure whether or not to include it as you couldn’t get your hands on it any more. I decided to include it anyway, if for no other reason than to provide inspiration, so I was happy to see that MAC are bringing this colour back again in this years holiday collections. Another purply berry tone with more of a focus on the berry, this is great on it’s own as a sheer wash of a darker colour, or layered over one of the darker lipsticks to add intensity and gloss.
Let me know what your favourite lip products are for this season in the comments.

Lush Halloween Haul

Lush Halloween Haul

Lush is one of my big loves. I get obsessed over the Holiday goodies they come out with every year but I’ve never been overly keen on the Halloween range. This year however the products were just too darn cute to resist!

I picked up one each of Soot Ball, Pumkin and Lord of Misrule and can’t wait to try each of them. I plan on doing reviews of each on this blog once I have tried them out so be on the look out for those. Soot Ball is the one I am most drawn to and the one I would purchase were I only to allow myself one (but I’m greedy so had to get all three!) so that will probably be the one I use up first.

You can pick these up from Lush’s website here. For reference Soot Ball is £2.50, Pumkin is £2.75, and Lord of Misrule is £3.30. If you want to get a first look at each of them you can watch my haul below.

Going Darker For Fall #thefallinspired

Going Darker For Fall

Hey guys, throughout October I have been doing a series called #thefallinspired. To kick the series off I dyed my hair darker for the fall/autumn season, my friend Jenny helped me and I filmed the process. I used the Clairol Nice and Easy dye in 120 Natural Dark Brown and I loved how the colour turned out. I think next time I will go a shade darker as the intensity didn’t hold so I’m hoping by going a bit darker it will hold the colour a bit longer.

Make sure you check out all of the other #thefallinspired videos, it’s been really fun having a theme for this month and I hope you like this fun little video.
